34-year-old Caleb Hinchman was involved in an accident on I-24 West in the afternoon of April 7th. Upon arrival, witnesses advised officers that one of the involved drivers, later identified as Hinchman, sped up and took the Haywood Lane Exit, adding that they found him and took a picture of his plate. About an hour and a half later, Hinchman called 911, advising them that he was near the intersection of 3rd Avenue South and Ash Street. When officers arrived, he told them he attempted to report the accident, but dispatch said they had not received any other calls from him. He explained people were coming up and taking pictures of his car, so he got nervous and left the scene. He was cited for the incident and booked on the citation of leaving the scene of an accident on April 30th.
