Colin Teaser charged with DUI after canoodling with girlfriend in church parking lot

18-year-old Colin Teaser told police he was just “chilling” with his girlfriend on Bell Road at the Rural Hill Church of Christ parking lot on January 21st when they encountered the couple in a car together. Officers received reports regarding a suspicious vehicle, arrived, and spoke to Teaser, who advised them that a security guard had informed him it was private property before they showed up. They noticed his slurred words as he told them he had taken two allergy medications. He consented to sobriety tests and performed poorly, showing numerous signs of impairment. Teaser was taken into custody for driving under the influence.

Mary Mcgowan drives into her son with her vehicle

72-year-old Mary Mcgowan was involved in an altercation with her son, Larry Mcgowan, at a residence on Haywood Lane on December 30th. The situation began when Mary arrived at a property that Larry was renting out to another family. Mary then started an argument with him regarding family issues while he was standing next to her car window. While the argument ensued, Larry stepped away because he received a phone call. Mary, infuriated, drove into Larry with the driver-side mirror of her car, causing a small scrape on his leg. Officers spoke to one of the residents of the house, Maria Espinoza, who stated that she witnessed Mary hit her son with her vehicle. She also advised that Larry wasn’t close to the vehicle when he got hit, so it seemed intentional. Mary Mcgowan was taken into custody and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Joshua Taylor bitten by wife during infidelity dispute

21-year-old Joshua Taylor was jailed on November 11th after assaulting his wife at their home on Brentridge Place. Joshua advised that he and his wife, Hannah Burton, were arguing due to ongoing marital issues when she tried to leave the apartment. Hannah had the keys to Taylor’s car, and he told her to return them. When she refused, he tried to grab the keys from her hand. She then tried to knee him but missed and was shoved away. She swung her hand at him but missed again. When Taylor tried to take the keys again, Ms. Burton bit his hand. Officers observed the fresh bite mark on his hand. Ms. Burton told police that she caught her husband cheating, and that’s why they started arguing. According to Ms. Burton, her husband was on the phone with his mother, who was telling him to stop her from leaving. She showed the police the missing skin from her fingers as a result of Taylor trying to rip the keys from her hand. She also explained that she bit him because he wrapped his arms around her to restrain her. Due to the injuries and the fact that Taylor initiated the physical altercation, he was taken into custody.

Jonathan Aleman Herrera punches brother multiple times in face

27-year-old Jonathan Enrique Aleman Herrera was involved in a domestic scuffle with his brother, Jefferson Eleazar Aleman Herrera, at Turfway Court on the afternoon of November 12th. Claudia Martinez Morales, Jefferson’s girlfriend, spoke with the officers and told them that she and Jefferson had kicked Jonathan out of their house the day before. His girlfriend, Karla Lara Cartagena, came by to collect the rest of his belongings as Martinez advised her that only she could come in, not Jonathan. Jonathan pushed his way into the house, shoved his brother, and punched him multiple times in the face as they fell to the ground. Then, they were both transported to the Southern Hills Emergency Room.

Jefferson confirmed Martinez’s statements, adding that he felt unconscious after Jonathan punched him. He said he remembered picking up “something” and swinging it but missing Jonathan. He had visible injuries on his eyebrow and collarbone.

Cartagena told officers that Jefferson shoved Jonathan and punched him twice in the face when he stepped into the house. Then, she stated Jefferson picked up a knife, swung it, missed Jonathan, picked up a pan, and then hit him on the head.

Jonathan confirmed Cartagena’s statements, adding that he sustained a cut on his hand from defending himself from the knife. Officers noticed a cut on his hand with dried-up blood around it, two scratches on his midsection, and swelling on his brow.

Both parties were taken into custody for domestic assault.

Andre Payne charged in assault of girlfriend during argument about texts on her phone

22-year-old Andre Payne got angry with his girlfriend, La Chacia Blackman, over texts she received on the 20th of August. Officers were dispatched to Linbar Dr. for a call regarding a domestic disturbance. Blackman spoke with officers as they arrived and stated that she and Payne had an argument before he left the apartment. Payne came back shortly after searching for his phone, pushed his way into the apartment, and began to throw things around. Blackman said this was when she began to record Payne with her phone as he pushed her, causing her hand to hit the dresser, and then Payne left again. Officers observed an inch-and-a-half-long cut on Blackman’s palm. Payne was taken into custody this weekend for domestic assault.

Cliff Christian: I fought a tree for its sap; now I can speak Japanese

42-year-old Cliff Christian was jailed on Monday morning after police responded to a call regarding a man “assaulting a tree” at the intersection of Wallace and Recovery Road. When police arrived and approached Christian, he was behaving and speaking erratically and sweating profusely. He was screaming that a nearby tree was falling, which was not the case, leading the officer to believe he was on drugs. The officer asked Christian what he had taken, and he told the officer that he had taken marijuana, “a bunch of crack,” and tree sap that was supposed to give him the ability to speak Japanese. On the ride to booking, he kept reiterating how he had taken crack cocaine.

Robert Holmes charged with drug possession after DUI crash on Dickerson Pike

30-year-old Robert Holmes crashed his vehicle near Dickerson Pike and Grace Street late Friday night and admitted to consuming alcohol earlier in the day. Social media posts show Holmes drinking with friends at a restaurant just prior to driving. Responding officers say he smelled of alcohol and had trouble standing and speaking coherently. After performing poorly on field sobriety tests, Holmes was taken into custody. A subsequent inventory search of his vehicle prior to towing resulted in the seizure of 9.39 grams of marijuana in a Tupperware container.

Xzavier Woods charged in assault of Jasoniesha McCullough, mother of his child

22-year-old Xzavier Woods was jailed this weekend on an outstanding warrant charging him with the domestic assault of the mother of his child. Jasoniesha McCullough told police that she and Xzaiver were arguing because he had recently started seeing other people romantically, despite the two still living together. Wood reportedly became extremely upset and started to walk out of the room when Jasoniesha says she attempted to stop him by standing in the doorway. Woods then reportedly grabbed her and threw her around, and tossed her to the ground, leaving her with abrasions on her face, neck, torso, and bother arms, as documented by police. He fled the scene before police arrived, and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

18-year-old Robbyn Black & 22-year-old Jayla Warner face a multitude of charges after they rushed Weiss Liquors in East Nashville, destroying dozens of bottles of liquor and assaulting the people inside. An employee fought back with a baseball bat against one of the women.
