Roman Shabanov waves arms around moaning on Glastonbury road after taking Opium

30-year-old Roman Sergeyevich Shabanov was observed walking aimlessly, moaning, and waving his arms uncontrollably on Glastonbury Road in the early hours of July 22nd. When officers approached him, he began to walk into the nearby apartment complex. Officers noticed Shabanov was sweating profusely and could not sit still while speaking with police. He initially denied consuming narcotics and told officers he resides near Hermitage, TN, but provided them with multiple addresses. Then, Shabanov advised officers that he had been dropped off to stay with his friend, “T.I,” who stayed in the apartments at the location. Officers could not contact “T.I.” and, after Shabanov refused medical treatment, deemed him a danger to himself. During a subsequent search of him, officers found approximately a gram of an unknown white powdery substance that he later identified as opium with possible fentanyl. Shabanov was taken into custody for simple possession and public intoxication.
