Garth Wood jailed after stealing from man he was charging for his companionship

32-year-old Garth Wood was jailed Friday afternoon after Leonard Pollmann reported that he had been in a sexual relationship with Garth after reaching out for a companion online whilst grieving his late wife. Leonard advised that Garth charged him $250.00 plus the charge of the Uber for every visit to his house on Charlotte Pike to assist in his grieving. According to Leonard, the arrangement didn’t become sexual until Garth introduced him to a drug he believed was called THCA. Leonard explained that he thought he was doing THCA but was actually doing crystal meth. Over time, Garth began asking for loans, which Leonard would give to his newfound male lover. He advised he had been manipulated into loaning Garth money several times throughout their relationship. Leonard estimates he loaned Garth around $20,000. Garth also was stealing from Leonard’s home. During one visit, he walked out with three iPads that were worth $400 each and refused to give them back. Garth also stole Leonard’s wife’s jewelry, which was worth approximately $15,000. Leonard showed officers text messages from Garth admitting that he was in possession of the iPads. Leonard wished to prosecute for the theft of his belongings, totaling $16,200.
