Amanda Koehl (from Normal, Illinois), says she has a defense as to why she assaulted a homeless man at 2nd/Broadway downtown on Saturday Night & tried to rob him of his beloved dog – She told an officer she did it because “I have money” & “can give the dog a better life“. We’re excited to see how that works in a Nashville courtroom, where she will appear before Judge Coleman.
Officers were dispatched to 200 Broadway to a report of a white female assaulting a male. Upon arrival, the victim informed police that Amanda Koehl approached him and tried to snatch his dog. During this robbery attempt, both the victim and multiple witnesses confirm that Koehl was hitting the victim in the back as she attempted to steal the dog. The victim was able to get his puppy dog back from Koehl.
Once separated, officers report that Koehl has slurred speech, her face was read, and she admitted to recently consuming several alcoholic drinks. Once in the back of the transport car, Amanda Koehl stated that she believes she can give the dog a better life because the victim is homeless and she has money.
What is this 21yo’s experience that she can provide better for this puppy. According to her social media, here is her school and work history:
Koehl is charged with misdemeanor public intox, and felony attempted robbery. Koehl bonded out on a $2500 bond via A Around The Clock Bonding and will appear in court 12/08.
