Police say Samuel Calvert, 18, Joshua Hockett, 20, and Judah Davis, 18, ambushed a man from behind, hit him with a handgun and robbed him of his cash and jewelry at 5 a.m. Thursday morning in North Nashville.
Metro Police responded to an aggravated robbery call at 5:10 a.m. Thursday, June 13th, on Llyod Avenue in North Nashville. The victim reported he was walking down the street when he was hit from behind with a handgun and forced to the ground by three young men. They robbed him of his wallet containing $600 in cash and took his silver chain necklace. He was able to see their license plate as they fled the scene in a silver Nissan Altima.

Police ran the plate, which returned to a Burns Street address. Later that day, police observed the car at that location, including multiple subjects near the vehicle matching the description given by the victim. They were detained, and a show-up was conducted, during which they were positively identified. While under Miranda, Joshua Hockett implicated himself to being present during the robbery. Police searched the bedroom of Judah Davis, who resides at that address and located a small amount of marijuana, along with a Taurus .380 handgun.
Joshua Hockett, 20, was previously indicted on a criminal homicide charge, which was reduced to reckless homicide in 2018. He was found guilty of the lesser charge in May of 2018, and given a “judgment deferred-no conviction” sentence, which via a later motion in February of 2019 suspended his 3 year sentence, and released him to serve probation in the custody of his grandmother, and the condition to not possess any guns. This was the first arrest of the other two, according to court records. Calvert is held in lieu of a $50,000 bond on an aggravated robbery charge, Davis is held in lieu of a $56,000 bond on aggravated robbery, gun possession, and marijuana charges, and Hockett is held in lieu of a $75,000 bond for aggravated robbery.
