On March 29th, Metro Nashville Police found D’Ante Leo Johnson leaning out of his car, covered in blood in North Nashville. His girlfriend, 23-year-old Deja Nicole McClain, admitted to stabbing him in the head with a large knife after he broke up with her. She also stole his social security card “so he would have to come back”. She is free on a $10,000 bond.
77-year-old Bobbie Peoples is charged with felony aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after police say she pointed a gun at her husband of 54 years and demanded to know what he did with the painting of a dog she was currently working on. The husband called the police to report he was afraid she would shoot him.
27-year-year old Kennetha ‘Michelle’ Blaylock is free on a $30,000 bond after police say she followed a shoplifting couple out of the Whites Creek convenience store she was working at, firing three shots into the wheel wells of the vehicle after both occupants were inside it.
22-year-old Marshall Shanks, a TSU Dean’s List senior, was jailed on a felony aggravated assault with a deadly weapon charge Wednesday morning after police say he pointed a gun at his ex-girlfriend and said “These streets are not safe” when she rejected his marriage proposal inside a car after drinks at a local restaurant.
34-year-old Darnell Cunningham was charged with theft of a vehicle after law enforcement discovered that the car in question had run out of gas at an intersection in North Nashville. Cunningham is notably known as the party responsible for stealing two pairs of boots belonging to Kacey Musgraves in 2016.
North Precinct detectives charged William Gardner, 77, with criminal homicide for Sunday’s 5 a.m. fatal shooting of his nephew, Jerry Birdwell, 54, and attempted murder for wounding Birdwell’s girlfriend inside the residence they all shared in the 8000 block of Jackman Road in Joelton.
19-year-old Dakota Rapien was charged with two counts of domestic assault after threatening to kill himself by holding a knife to his leg at the Congress Inn in North Nashville.
