Masked man found with replica handgun; charged with felon in possession of a handgun

33-year-old Terrell Thomas was charged with resisting arrest, felon in possession of a handgun, and imitation firearm offense after he was found with a replica handgun, dressed in all black with a mask wandering behind the Hyatt Place Nashville Airport.

On February 29th, officers received a call in reference to a man wearing all black and a mask while holding a gun in the woods behind the Hyatt Place Nashville Airport on Royal Parkway. Police made contact with a subject matching the description in the parking lot of the Hyatt looking into a Chevy Cobalt. Police ordered him to stop and he looked back and began to walk away. Police yelled for the subject to stop and he took off running through the woods.

The subject was apprehended at the intersection of Patriot Way and Elm Hill Pike and was identified as Terrell Thomas. Once apprehended, police searched Terrell and found a handkerchief tied into a mask shape. Officers walked back through the area where they pursued Terrell and located a black replica handgun that matched the description given by the witness. Police ran a check and found that Terrell had a felony conviction and was seen with a handgun with intent to go armed.

Terrell Thomas was arrested and charged with Resisting Arrest, Felon in Possession of a Handgun, and Imitation Firearm Offense. His bond was set at $12,500.
