21-year-old Fortune Joyner was charged with possession of marijuana after being pulled over and admitting to police that she had marijuana in her underwear.
On March 18th, officers pulled over an Acura SUV that matched the description of a vehicle that was involved in a shooting in North Nashville. Officers noted that upon making contact with the vehicle, the odor of marijuana could be smelled coming from it. The occupants told officers they had smoked marijuana earlier in the day, according to the affidavit.
Fortune Joyner told officers she had stashed marijuana in her underwear before they performed a probable cause search of her person. Police found a small glass jar that held 2.4 grams of marijuana in Fortune’s underwear. Fortune also has a warrant in Montgomery County.
Fortune Joyner was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of marijuana. The District Attorney chose not to prosecute the case but was transferred to Montgomery County for a violation of probation.
