On March 20th, police witnessed Lorenzo Barr nearly collide with another vehicle and run a red light while turning at the intersection of Rosa L Parks Boulevard and Jefferson Street. Officers then initiated a traffic stop at the intersection of Jefferson Street and 4th Avenue North. Once officers made contact with Lorenzo they immediately smelled alcohol emitting from his person. Officers then asked for Lorenzo’s license, where he fumbled and said “I just want to go to work, I work for Metro Water.” Police noted that Lorenzo had bloodshot watery eyes, slurred speech, and he had to brace himself against the side of his vehicle while getting out of it.
