22 year-old Jasmine Owens was charged with felony child abuse under the age of 8, disorderly conduct, and resisting arrest after her brother and police witness her dropping her baby and using him as a punching bag, causing a scene with her neighbors, and requiring a hobble restraint to be detained.
On May 26th, police witnessed a disturbance happening. Owens was hitting her child with a closed fist while her brother, Steven Greer, attempted to restrain her. Greer told officers his sister dropped her baby and started using it as a punching bag.
Yelling and screaming, people started forming a crowd around the area. She started kicking the officer’s patrol car and causing a scene. Officers ended up having to use a hobble restraint to get her under control. According to officers, the child is currently in Centennial Hospital.
Jasmine Owens was arrested and charged with felony child abuse on a child under 8, disorderly conduct, and resisting arrest. She is currently jailed in lieu of a $27,000 bond.
