32-year-old Amanda Mccomb was charged being a felon in possession of a weapon and possession of marijuana when police arrived at a Comfort Suites to find her with a gunshot wound that she claimed to have accidentally done to herself.

On June 20th, police arrived at Comfort Suites (621 Rivergate Parkway) to find Amanda Mccomb leaning on a Black Volvo SUV with a gunshot wound. Video surveillance showed Mccomb around 10:06 am loading a baby swing into the back of the SUV then it shows her doubled over. She seemed in pain and was attempting to call someone on the cell phone. A computer check of the license plate shows that the SUV was stolen in Metro Davidson County. A search of the vehicle found two purses, one with her identification card and debit card and the other with a pill bottle with 13 grams of marijuana in it. Also, medics found the .22 caliber casing in her pocket while they were transporting her to Vanderbilt Hospital.

The front desk clerk of the Comfort Suites, Amanda Maynard, said that she saw Mccomb arrive at the hotel where she had been staying for the last four days, alone. Maynard said that she has been staying with an African American male. When she was shot, Maynard helped her but Mccomb was trying to shut the back hatch of the SUV but could not. Maynard told her that she should not do it so police can see the gun that shot her. Reportedly, the police said that everything in the SUV belonged to Mccomb except a bag of men’s clothing. But the SUV was full to where only the driver’s seat was capable of being occupied. This showed that the items must all belong to her.

On July 28th, Amanda Mccomb was arrested and charged with felon in possession of a weapon and possession of marijuana. Her bond was set at $12,000.
