38-year-old Cecilia Moore was charged with domestic assault after she pulled her daughter to the ground by her necklace, leaving several cuts to her neck.
On October 7th, Metro Nashville Police officers were dispatched to 1246 12th Avenue South for a domestic disturbance. When they arrived, Cecilia Moore was screaming and multiple people inside the residence. Cecilia appeared to be slurring her speech and was unsteady on her feet. When officers made contact with her, they smelled alcohol on her breath. Dorothy Banks, her mother, told officers that Cecilia was angry with her daughter.
The two began to argue after Cecilia showed up two hours late to pick up her daughter from work. According to the affidavit, Cecilia attacked her daughter by grabbing her necklace and bringing her to the ground. The juvenile victim had several scratches and lacerations to her neck. She was then taken to Vanderbilt Pediatrics for neck pain. Cecilia refused to talk with officers and she was taken into custody due to statements made by the parties involved and the visible injuries of her daughter.
Cecilia Moore was arrested and charged with domestic assault. She was later released on a $2,000 bond.
