26-year-old Sanchez Ballard was charged with theft of property after police say his prints were found on a vehicle that was reported stolen in July and found three months later.
On July 10th, Metro Nashville Police officers were dispatched to 201 E. Palestine Avenue where Hosam Gawargi reported a stolen vehicle. According to the affidavit, Hosam told officers that he left his keys inside the vehicle while he was working as a security guard. When he came back, he noticed his vehicle was gone.
On October 6th, Metro Nashville Police officers located the 2003 Honda Accord at 924 McFerrin Avenue. The vehicle was unattended at the time and officers had it towed to an impound lot located at 1201 Freightliner Drive. On October 8th, the vehicle was processed for prints and one was found on the gear shift of the release button. On November 3rd, the print was submitted for comparison and was found to belong to Sanchez Ballard.
On November 18th, Sanchez Ballard was arrested and charged with theft of property. He was later released on a $1,000 bond.
