27-year-old Rohit Sunuwar is charged with domestic assault after admitting to punching his wife in the face and holding her by the hair during an argument about him going out for drinks with his friends.
On February 22nd, Metro Nashville Police officers were dispatched to a domestic disturbance located at a residence on Sheila Drive in Antioch. Officers spoke to his wife, the victim, who said she was involved in a physical altercation with her husband, Rohit Sunuwar. She stated that he was preparing to go out drinking with his friends and she didn’t want him to go.
According to the affidavit, Rohit Sunuwar grabbed her by the hair during the argument and started pulling it, and would not let her go. The victim stated she was in fear and scratched his face in self-defense to get him to let go. Rohit finally let go and punched her in the face, causing injury to the victim.
On February 22nd, Rohit Sunuwar was charged and arrested with domestic assault. He verbally admitted to holding onto her hair and refusing to release his grip, as well as to punching his wife in the face. He is currently out of jail on a $1,500 bond.
