Piercing Pagoda employee confesses to forged returns scheme totaling near $5,000

33-year-old Jaurice Pegues is charged with pocketing nearly $5,000 in cash from Piercing Pagoda in Opry Mills Mall. He admitted to the crime and wrote a detailed confession to management when confronted with the evidence.

Metro Nashville Police responded to Piercing Pagoda in Opry Mills Mall on February 24th, after management called to report an employee had confessed to a major fraud scheme against the retailer.

The employee, Jaurice Pegues admitted he was creating fake returns and pocketing the cash from the register. The total amount of the fraud known at the time was $4,925. Pegues wrote and signed a confession to management, and also admitted the scheme to officers when they arrived.

Jaurice Pegues, of Antioch, was booked into the Metro Nashville Jail on a felony charge of forgery <$10,000. He is free on pre-trial release and scheduled to appear in court in April.
