38-year-old Brian Barrett had an altercation with his son, Preston Barrett, on Seifried Street Thursday morning. Preston advised offices that he was on the couch when a verbal argument between him and Brian ensued. He walked to the stairs once they began cursing each other, and Brian stood up, walked over to him, and spit on him. Then, he said Brian charged at him, so he punched him in the face repeatedly in self-defense, fearing for his safety. Brian tackled him to the ground before his mother was able to split up the scuffle. Preston provided video evidence corroborating his story, and they deemed Brian the primary aggressor. He was taken into custody for domestic assault.
Brian Barrett of Seifried Street in Nashville, TN, was booked into the Metro Nashville Jail on December 14th, charged with domestic assault. He is free on a $1,000 bond.

Barrett then got on top of the juvenile, pulled his hair, bit him on his arm, and punched him multiple times. Officers then spoke with a witness, who reported that the verbal disagreement started because Barrett thought his son was “being disrespectful.” She also stated that she did not know who threw the first punch. Officers also spoke with Barrett, who stated that he and his son went outside to walk the dog, and he was punched multiple times. Barrett stated he did not remember anything besides being punched numerous times. Officers deemed Barrett to be the primary aggressor, and he was taken into custody for domestic assault.
