21-year-old Magdalena Alonzo-Alonzo had a domestic dispute with her husband, Marvin Domingo, at their shared apartment on Hickory Trace Drive early December 31st. Officers arrived and observed Alonzo-Alonzo walking around outside of her apartment, crying, stating she could not find her husband or daughter. They approached her and noticed a strong odor of alcohol as she advised them that she had been locked out of her home. Officers knocked on the door and spoke with Domingo, who told them that he was drinking in the bedroom with her when she became aggressive, sporadically attacking him and throwing him onto the ground for no reason. Then, he said he got up and ran out of the apartment. Alonzo-Alonzo locked the door behind him, so Domingo had to climb to the second-story balcony to check on their 5-month-old baby, who was crying. He waited until Alonzo-Alonzo left the apartment to look for him and locked her out of the residence. They documented the scratches on his neck, back, and face. Then, officers spoke with Alonzo-Alonzo, who could not give them a linear explanation regarding the incident. Alonzo-Alonzo told them that she, Domingo, and her sister were drinking in the bedroom because he forced her to. She said that her sister left with the baby and locked her inside the bedroom, causing her to break down the door. Officers asked her why she didn’t just unlock the door, as the lock was on her side of the door, instead of breaking it down. Alonzo-Alonzo did not have an answer for this. Alonzo-Alonzo had injuries to her hand, which she said happened when Domingo pinched it. However, the injuries were inconsistent with the statement she provided. Her sister left the scene so officers could not speak to her during questioning. Officers deemed Alonzo-Alonzo the primary aggressor, and she was taken into custody for domestic assault.
