Joshua Wafford bumps security guard with his truck at St. Jude’s Rock ‘n’ Roll Nashville Marathon

37-year-old Joshua Wafford was involved in an altercation with Jobiel Alexander at the intersection of South 9th Street and Woodland Street on April 27th. Alexander and another individual working security for St. Jude’s Rock ‘n’ Roll Nashville Marathon, Ms. Macgregor, told law enforcement that they observed a truck driver drive around a barricade onto Woodland Street. The two went over to stop him from going any further. Alexander stood in front of the truck, and Macgregor went to the driver’s side to talk to Wafford. Wafford told them he worked on Woodland Street and needed to get through traffic. Alexander and Macgregor reiterated that Wafford couldn’t go that way, so Wafford proceeded to bump into Alexander with the truck’s front bumper. After bumping into Alexander, Wafford made his way onto Russel Street. When confronted by law enforcement, Wafford stated that he did not hit any security guards but that one of the guards jumped on the front of his vehicle. This contradicts the statements of a witness of the incident, Ms. Bates, who advised that she was sitting across the street from the incident and observed Wafford bump into a security guard with the truck. Joshua Wafford was taken into custody and charged with aggravated assault.
