Tourist Hector Carmona attacks bystanders outside Losers Bar in Midtown

23-year-old Hector Jose Carmona had an altercation with Nino Giannulli-Chavez at Loser’s Bar on Division Street early December 30th. Officers arrived and observed Giannulli-Chavez on the ground, bleeding from the back of his head, and Carmona handcuffed by the bar security. Carmona was visibly intoxicated as they overheard his slurred speech. Bar security and other witnesses advised officers that Carmona was kicked out of the bar. Then, he stood outside the bar, starting fights with anyone who entered or exited. When Giannulli-Chavez was leaving, Carmona started arguing with him and punched him in the back of his head, causing him to fall and hit his head on the pavement. Giannulli-Chavez was losing consciousness and had a large laceration on the back of his head, so he was transported to Vanderbilt by EMS. Carmona was taken into custody for aggravated assault, public intoxication, and disorderly conduct.
