DUI: Teren Dabler falls asleep behind the wheel after one shot of tequila

26-year-old Teren Dabler was found sleeping inside a black SUV at Interstate 40 on March 30th. Trooper Hearn, a Tennessee Highway Patrol member, contacted Dabler to ensure he was okay. He found that Dabler was asleep and tried to wake him by knocking on the window. Hearn’s efforts to get Dabler to wake up received no attention, so he yelled into the window until Dabler responded. Hearn instructed Dabler to lower his window, but again, he demonstrated trouble listening to instructions. While talking to Dabler, Hearn observed the smell of an intoxicating beverage from his person. Once Dabler was instructed to get out of the car, he showcased more signs of intoxication. When Hearn asked Dabler where he was coming from, Dabler said a bar in Nashville called Link. When asked if he consumed any alcohol, Dabler admitted that he had one shot of tequila. Dabler consented to sobriety tests and performed poorly. Dabler was then read implied consent and refused to provide a blood sample. Teren Dabler was taken into custody and charged with driving under the influence on March 31st.
