25-year-old Johnathan Dillon York and 23-year-old Barrie Denise Nash both remain in a Nashville jail Saturday, after police found the pair in a vehicle with a handgun and drugs, including Xanax, Hydrocodone, Heroin, Suboxone, and methamphetamine.
Metro police responded to a suspicious persons call on April 22nd and located a 1994 Buick LeSabre with a tag that returned as stolen out of Mt. Juliet. The driver of the vehicle was Johnathan York, with Barrie Nash as his passenger. As York stepped out of the vehicle to be taken into custody for an outstanding probation warrant, the butt of a black handgun, later found to be a .45 S&W M&P Shield with a full magazine and 1 round in the chamber, was seen in plain view halfway under the driver’s seat.
A search of York revealed a pill bottle in his right jacket pocket, containing 9 Xanax bars, 21 Hydrocodone pills, 1 capsule that tested positive for heroin, 3 Suboxone pills, and a half-gram of methamphetamine.
The passenger of the vehicle, Barrie Nash, was searched and found to have a half-gram of methamphetamine wrapped in a paper receipt in her bra. She remains jailed on a $25,000 bond, charged with possession of meth with intent to distribute (<.5 grams). York was jailed on multiple new drug charges, and two days later, on April 24th, conceded to the probation violation warrant, and his original sentence was placed into effect. He will serve the original 2 years at 30%, while awaiting trial on the new charges.
