Man charged with DUI after police smell weed coming from his vehicle

24-year-old Jaylen Stonerock was charged with possession of a handgun while under the influence, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, and DUI after police pulled him over for making an illegal U-turn.

On March 14th, police witnessed Jaylen Stonerock run a red light to make a U-turn on Korean Veterans Boulevard. Police initiated a traffic stop and immediately smelled the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. Jaylen stated he had smoked earlier in the day. During a search of the vehicle, officers recovered a half-smoked blunt located underneath the passenger seat.

Police stated that Jaylen smelled of marijuana and had bloodshot eyes. Officers also located a handgun in a holster on Jaylen’s person. He was taken into custody and consented to a blood draw that was performed at Nashville General Hospital. He was then transported to booking without incident.

Jaylen Stonerock was arrested and charged with possession of a handgun while under the influence, unlawful possession of marijuana, and DUI. His bond was set at $3,000.
