37-year-old Matthew Bruce was charged with sexual exploitation of a minor after he attempted to upload child pornography to Google Photos.
On February 24th, Detective Carrigan executed a search warrant on Brooksboro Terrace in reference to information received from Google regarding sexual images of minor females uploaded to the Google Photos account of email@example.com. Matthew Bruce lives in the apartment and was interviewed at the time of the search. Matthew confessed to having a sexual interest in minor children and stated that his preferred age range is between 8 and 10 years old. He also admitted to possessing the sexual images that were a part of the original CyberTip. Matthew said that once he uploaded the images he was locked out of his Google account.
Matthew further stated he owns and uses a desktop computer in his bedroom to search for, view, and save sexual images and videos of minor children and stated that “it likely contained around 1,000 images/ videos of that nature.” Police seized a computer tower from his bedroom during the search and the initial examination of the device found over 150 sexual images of minor females engaged in a variety of sexual acts. Some of the acts portrayed in the images included penile/ vaginal penetration, fellatio, cunnilingus, penile/ anal penetration, digital/ vaginal penetration, as well as the lascivious exhibition of female breasts, genitalia, and/ or buttocks. The average ages of the female minors in the images found were between the ages of 4 and 10 years old. Matthew was taken into custody and transported to booking.
Matthew Bruce was arrested and charged with Sexual Exploitation of a Minor. His bond was set at $20,000.
