Cell phone message angers man into strangling his girlfriend and accusing her of cheating

19-year-old Quentin Harris was charged with aggravated assault when police responded to a 911 hang-up call and forced entry into the home to find that he accused his girlfriend of cheating and strangled her because of a cell phone message.

On August 10th, dispatch received a 911 hang-up call from 884 Airways Circle where police arrived and heard pleas for help by a female inside. The dispatcher said that all they could hear over the phone call was a man and a woman screaming at each other.

So when the police heard the victim’s pleas for help they forced their entry into the apartment after knocking several times. They found Quentin Harris, who said that he was arguing with his girlfriend Juliet Bury and she tried to attack him with a knife. Then he refused to answer any further questions and became argumentative towards the officers.

Officer Bruce was able to contact Bury who said that Harris became upset with her and accused her of cheating after seeing a message on her phone. She went on to tell them that he placed his hands around her throat and began strangling her until she felt like she was going to pass out. Also, she stated that she felt like she was going to throw up during the incident. Police had her transported to be medically evaluated for internal injuries while Harris was placed into custody.

Quentin Harris was arrested and charged with aggravated assault by strangulation. His bond was set at $25,000.
