On August 5th, officers were called to a domestic crisis on Harpeth Spring Drive. Cherie Oakley stated that she had an active full order of protection in place against husband Thomas. Cherie was contacted by her neighbors down the street around 9:00 PM. Neighbor Emily Kelley told Cherie they had spotted a truck belonging to Thomas around the corner from her home. Frightened, she grabbed her child and got into her vehicle in case Thomas was lurking around the house. She went to her neighbor’s house where they had been standing across the street from the vehicle.

Cherie then spotted Thomas getting into his vehicle and fleeing the scene. Previously, the neighbors saw Thomas appear from behind a house across the street from Cherie’s house where he could observe the front door and driveway. Emily Kelley provided pictures and videos of Thomas’s truck parked on the corner.

Six days later on August 12th, he showed up to his child’s school. The principal spotted Thomas on school property. Thomas began to circle the location and Cherie was contacted by the principal and explained the situation. Cherie was afraid of Thomas and what he was planning.

On August 13th, Thomas Oakley was arrested and charged with aggravated stalking and order of protection violation. His bond was set at $9,500.
