37-year-old William Wilson was charged with domestic assault and aggravated assault after he showed up randomly to a get-together, appearing high on hallucinogens and strangled a woman before hitting her with a car battery charger.
On June 20th of 2019, Metro Nashville Police Officers responded to a call about a person with a weapon at the Chimney Top Apartments located at 514 Chimneytop Drive. When they arrived, they met with Jennifer Moore who told the officers that William Wilson, who she had previously lived with, unexpectedly showed up at the residence while she was there hanging out. She described William as being obviously under the influence of drugs and hallucinating. William became aggressive and Jennifer and her sister, Brandi Mcneese, told him to leave.
According to affidavits, William left and was trying to jump-start his car with a battery charger when Jennifer’s son ran outside, causing both Jennifer and Brandi to go outside after him. While they were outside, William pushed both women and then put Brandi in a chokehold, impeding her ability to breathe. He then picked Brandi up and slammed her down onto the sidewalk, punched her several times in the face, kicked her multiple times in the stomach, and hit her with the battery charger before Jennifer pulled him off of her sister. William fled the scene in his vehicle before the police could arrive. Brandi’s estranged husband, Cedric Wade, was also at the get-together and witnessed the events. Both victims and Wade separately gave corroborating statements.
On October 27th, William Wilson was arrested and charged with domestic assault and aggravated assault- strangulation, the charges were later dismissed.
