42-year-old Holly Frye was doing what all tourists do in downtown Nashville and was extremely intoxicated according to officers working the Entertainment District Initiative last weekend. Bystanders flagged down police after she had fallen and was stumbling around, unable to maintain her composure. Officer gave her opportunities to call a friend, order a rideshare, and even dispatched medics to the scene to offer her a trip to the hospital to get checked out, all in an effort to avoid an arrest. She declined all of the choices presented to her and stated she just wanted to go home, however, that was not one of the available options, as she had no way to safely get there. Officers transported her to the Metro Nashville Jail, where she was charged with public intoxication.

| On 12/10/2021 at 2255 hours Officers were flagged by bystanders and pointed towards the defendant stating that she had fallen and was stumbling around. Officers made contact with the defendant and observed signs of impairment and injuries sustained from the fall. The defendant was stumbling around and could not answer Officer’s questions. Officers asked the defendant if she could call a taxi or a rideshare driver. The defendant attempted to unlock her phone but could not open the application to call a rideshare. The defendant was offered medical services due to the injury she sustained but she refused. Officers notified Emergency Medical Services to come to the scene to offer the defendant a chance to go to the hospital. When Emergency Medical Services arrived, the defendant refused to answer any medical questions and stated that she just wanted to go home. Officers advised the defendant that she was a danger to herself and if she did not go to the hospital, she would be taken to booking for Public Intoxication.
