27-year-old Shaquille Bowen faces multiple charges after an argument started as he was making gingerbread houses with his girlfriend, LaShonda Simpson, who had invited him over. Simpson says she went outside and sat in the car after the argument became heated and he yelled and threatened to break things, leading to the couple fighting in the grass outside for an “extended time” before taking it to the gravel on her patio, and back into the grass. He eventually fled the residence. She also did not say there overnight. The following morning, she received a phone call that he had broken into her apartment through a window and slept there while she was gone. Bowen is charged with domestic assault, aggravated trespass, and vandalism. He remains jailed in lieu of a $6,500 bond.

| 12/13 Incident: The victim and defendant were in a dating relationship. The victim told police that the defendant was upset with her last night at approximately 2030 hours due to an argument that developed while they were making gingerbread houses. The victim advised police that she attempted to separate from the defendant by going outside, but the defendant followed her outside. The victim stated she sat in her car, and the defendant began yelling at her to get out and threatening to break her stuff. The victim advised the defendant pulled her out by her hair, and they began to fight outside. The victim stated she fought with the defendant for an extended time. The victim advised they fought in the grass outside of her apartment, in the gravel on her patio, and again inside. The victim advised the defendant eventually left the home. Officers observed a scratch on the victim’s face above her left eye. The victim advised police the scratch occurred when the defendant threw the victim onto gravel outside of her apartment. 12/13 Incident: I received a phone call from my ex-boyfriend this morning around 9a.m. and he said he broke my window and slept in my apartment last night while I was not there. He said he was going to go back to the apartment again. I immediately called police. Police arrived and located the defendant outside of the apartment. The defendant, after being read his Miranda rights, stated to police that he broke the window and slept in the apartment last night. Officers observed a broken window on the front of the apartment. |
