59-year-old Jonathan Martin drove his Dodge Ram slower than the posted speed limit, swerving between lanes on Harding Place near Interstate 65 in the early hours of March 12th. Officers observed this and conducted a traffic stop. Officers noticed Martin reeked of alcohol as they approached him. Martin then admitted to drinking, so officers transported him to a safe location to take sobriety tests, which he performed poorly. Martin was detained and agreed to provide a breath sample, which resulted in 0.064 BAC%. While searching Martin’s Dodge Ram, officers located an open bottle of Buffalo Trace Bourbon in a brown paper bag on the passenger’s seat. Officers also found multiple other alcohol containers and a handgun. Martin was taken into custody for driving under the influence, an open container violation, and the possession of a weapon while being under the influence.
