37-year-old John F. Wright was taken into custody for vandalism on April 16th. Beverly Jean Wright, his mother, told officers that he became upset after not getting the amount of cigarettes he wanted and threw away a TV, a Bluetooth speaker, and a small table in a communal dumpster, causing damage to them. Then, when they spoke with John, he admitted throwing the TV away because he believed it was broken. Officers were informed that he has a diagnosed mental illness and the mental aptitude of a young teenager. John was then detained for the incident.
John F. Wright was booked into the Metro Nashville Jail on April 16th, charged with vandalism. A judicial commissioner set his bond at $1,000.
