Michaela Finkbiener charged with DUI after drinking at work at downtown bar

29-year-old Michael Finkbiner said she was a bartender downtown who drank before she hit a TDOT vehicle on I-24. Around 3:30 am on July 30th, MNPD Officers arrived at Exit50A on I-24 East, where a Ford Bronco had struck a TDOT vehicle and stopped after hitting a retaining wall. They spoke to Michaela, the driver of the Ford Bronco, and reported that she smelled of alcohol. She told police she was a bartender downtown and had two mixed shift drinks before leaving work that night. When police asked if they were singles or doubles, she stated that she did not make the drinks and could not comment on the amount of liquor per drink, but she did know one of them had vodka in it. Field sobriety tests were performed, and she showed several indications of intoxication. Michaela also told police that she was experiencing double vision and had a DUI in California four years before. She was then placed into custody for DUI.
