Antioch Handyman Charged w/ Sexual Exploitation of a Minor

Michael Perryman, 44, who often does handyman and painting jobs in the area, has been arrested on multiple sexual exploitation of a minor charges, after he left his phone at an Antioch truck stop, and it was found to have multiple images of children engaged in sexual activities stored in it by a clerk.

The investigation stared in May of 2018, when someone found a phone at an Antioch truck stop, and turned it into employee as lost and found. The clerk viewed the contents of the phone, in an attempt to identify the owner, but in doing so, found sexual images of minor children stored within the text messages on the phone. The clerk called police, and found there was also a Facebook account logged into the phone, which belonged to Michael Duane Perryman. Later in that day, Perryman came back to the store, asking if anyone had turned in a phone, but it had already been turned over to police.

In July, a search warrant was eventually executed for the device, and those results shared with detectives. On the phone were ‘selfies’ of Michael Perryman. His Facebook and google accounts were also logged into on the phone. Several text messages from February 2018 that contained 4 attached images of young girls, approximately 7-12 years old, in sexual poses. There was also an image of an adult female performing sexual acts on a minor female, age 4-7. Another photo exposed a video of a young girl, 11-13, exposing herself in a “Little Red Riding Hood” outfit.

A warrant charging Michael Perryman, 44, with 1 count sexual exploitation of a minor (50 items or less), and 1 count aggravated sexual exploitation (1-25 items) was issued in July, and he was arrested on the charge Thursday afternoon. Perryman remains jailed on a $25,00 bond.
