Kequan Waller, 17, has been charged with aggravated robbery and attempted aggravated rape of a 24-year-old woman in the elevator breezeway of her Walden Village Lane apartment building, in South Nashville.
The incident happened just after midnight on Wednesday, when Waller is accused of pulling a knife on the victim just after she arrived at her apartment complex. According to the victim, he threatened to kill her if she did not surrender her phone and purse, and he removed part of her clothing during the encounter, but stopped before actually sexually assaulting her.
Waller fled the scene in a Chevrolet Impala that was stolen on Sunday from a downtown hotel. When he was arrested on Thursday, during the recovery of a stolen delivery van on South 5th Street, he was carrying property of the victim, as well as a knife fitting the description given by the victim.
Additional charges are expected in relation to other crimes he was already under investigation for. Authorities encourage anyone with information on other crimes related to Kequan Waller, to call the Sex Crimes Unit at 615-862-7540
