3 officers fired after Top Golf bathroom brawl

3 law enforcement officers have been fired, after they allegedly lied to Metro Nashville Police to cover up a bathroom brawl at Top Golf. 2 Cheatham County Sheriff Department Deputies, and 1 Ashland City Police Officer were reportedly removed from active duty late Tuesday afternoon.

Deputies Doug Fox, Tyler Temple and ACPD Officer Paul Garrett are under investigation by the Metro Nashville Police Department. All three were off-duty and in Nashville on December 26, 2018, when the assault happened.

MNPD does not routinely release documents from active investigations, however a source within the department familiar with the matter tells Scoop: Nashville the three officers were enjoying off-duty at Top Golf in Nashville, when they encountered an intoxicated man in the restroom, who they were then involved in a fight with. At least two of the individuals allegedly assaulted the intoxicated man. During an interview with Metro Nashville Police about the incident, they are said to have been non-truthful in their statement(s), and in effort to conceal what actually happened. The trio reportedly have a hefty bar tab before the altercation.
