Police have identified Dashawn Ellis, 23, as the man shot Thursday night in North Nashville during a dice game. It happened inside an apartment in the 1500 block of 9th Avenue North. Police say they are pursuing strong leads in the case.
The investigation to this point shows that Ellison and other persons were engaged in a dice game when Ellison was shot. Detectives are continuing in their efforts to identify the man who shot Ellison, who died shortly after arriving at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
