Metro Nashville Police say Tametrice Welch was working as a front desk agent for the Sheraton Grand Nashville downtown, and during that employment she stole at least $1,388.17 from the company via cash payments taken from guests.
Welch was terminated in late November, after a guest complained to management that he had paid the full $1,000 bill in cash upon check-in, but still had a $500 bill at check-out. A check Welch’s transactions and money till for that day revealed that not had she taken the known $500, but also an additional $888.17, totaling $1388.17. According to court documents, Welch attempted to make arrangement to pay back the cash to the hotel, but to date has refused to make any such restitution, so in February the hotel reported the theft to police, who issued the felony warrant, for which she was arrested on May 16th. Welch is free on pre-trial release.
