Kacy Minnear, a former co-owner of Skin Deep in Cookeville, TN, has been sanctioned by the state board of Nursing after it was found she was only an LPN, yet told patients, employees, and signed legal documents as a ‘RN’ (registered nurse) – a qualification she hadn’t earned.
The Tennesse Board of Nursing has placed the LPN license of Kacy Minnear on probation, after an investigation, she presented herself as a registered nurse when she wasn’t qualified to do so. Documents show Minnear was a co-owner of ‘Skin Deep’, a medical spa in Cookeville, TN.
A disciplinary action shows Minnear admitted to signing documents and telling her employees and patients she was a RN. The board found her guilty of unprofessional conduct, impersonating a licensed practitioner, and engaging in acts of dishonesty related to the practice of nursing. Minnear will have her license on probation and she will have to complete 20 hours of continuing education related to ethics in nursing. Minnear has been an LPN since 2008.
