Man found hiding under bed taken into custody for outstanding domestic assault warrant

27-year-old Quyane Johnson was charged with domestic assault, vandalism, evading arrest, and contempt after he punched his ex-girlfriend in the mouth as she was trying to move out then attempted to evade police by hiding under a bed when officers were serving his warrant.

On March 29th, officers were dispatched to Whites Creek Pike in reference to a domestic disturbance. Eboni Gullatte called when she witnessed her roommate Kelsi Morgan get assaulted by her ex-boyfriend, Quyane Johnson. Kelsi was in the process of moving out of Quyane’s apartment and when they arrived she and Quyane started arguing. During the argument, Quyane grabbed Kelsi by the back of her neck, forced her into the living room, and punched her in the mouth splitting her lip. Officers observed Kelsi’s split lip and saw she was still bleeding when they arrived. Kelsi told officers during the confrontation, Quyane grabbed her phone and slammed it on the table causing it to break. Quyane fled the scene prior to officer arrival.

On March 30th, police attempted to serve a warrant on Quyane at the same residence on Whites Creek Pike. Kelsi allowed officers to enter and search the apartment. Metro Police identified themselves and made it clear that Quyane was a wanted individual. According to the affidavits, police found Quyane hiding under a bed in the back bedroom “intentionally concealing himself from law enforcement.”

Quyane Johnson was arrested and charged with domestic assault, vandalism, evading arrest, and contempt. His bond was set at $5,000.
