Intoxicated driver found with her lights out fails breathalyzer test

62-year-old Ellen Lehman was charged with her first DUI after police saw her driving late at night with her headlights off and then blew a 0.12% BAC on a breathalyzer test.

On August 19th, Officer Roark spotted a car driving without its headlights on at around 10 pm. A routine stop was made, and Roark could smell alcohol on Ellen Lehman’s breath when they spoke. Lehman was said to have fumbled about the car looking for her insurance when asked to exit the vehicle twice.

Lehman was said to have shown obvious signs of impairment during standardized field sobriety tests. Lehman agreed to take a breathalyzer and she blew a blood alcohol content of 0.12%.

Ellen Lehman was arrested and charged with her first DUI. She was later freed on pre-trial release.
