31-year-old Eric Silva was charged with identity theft and burglary after he was witnessed by Club Wyndham employees rifling through and stealing items from their co-worker’s car.
On October 11th, Metro Nashville Police officers were dispatched to Club Wyndham Nashville located at 2415 McGavock Pike when some employees of the establishment witnessed a stranger going through a co-worker’s car. The employees confirmed with the owner of the vehicle, John Patty, that no one should be inside of his vehicle.
John and his co-workers proceeded to go outside and confront the man breaking into his vehicle, but he ran taking some of John’s items. His co-workers followed the man to another vehicle and held him there until the police arrived. When police arrived they discovered the stolen items. The man, later identified as Eric Silva, gave police a false name after they placed him under arrest and later admitted to this, stating he lied due to him being on probation. He also advised police his friend had told him it was his girlfriend’s car and asked him to retrieve money from the vehicle.
Eric Silva was arrested and charged with identity theft and burglary of a motor vehicle. He is currently jailed in lieu of a $6,000 bond.
