21-year-old Nakea Durden was charged with domestic assault after she bit her ex-boyfriend because he tried putting her in a “bear hug” to to calm her down during an anxiety episode.
On October 2nd, Metro Nashville Police Officers were in the process of detaining Nakea Durden due to being possibly suicidal. Nakea had an anxiety episode and was being combative and was not cooperating with the police.
Adrian Shaw, Nakea’s ex-boyfriend, attempted to “bear hug” her to calm her down and assist police in detaining her and to keep her from hurting herself. When Adrian did this, she bit down on his arm. There was no visible injury to his arm, but police witnessed the incident.
Nakea Durden was arrested and charged with domestic assault. Her bond was set at $1,000 and she bonded out the same day.
