Woman stabs husband’s face; says he hit her with a Ciroc bottle first

38-year-old Lakita Parker was charged with aggravated assault when her husband showed up at Summit Hospital with lacerations to his arm and cheek and told them she was trying to wake him up when she stabbed him with a kitchen knife.

On October 8th, Gregory Volkens II was taken into Summit Hospital by his daughter for lacerations on his cheek and right arm he obtained during a domestic dispute. Metro Nashville Police officers were dispatched to the hospital due to the nature of the injuries. When contact was made with Volkens he stated he and his wife Lakita Parker got into a verbal altercation when she attempted to wake him up. The argument escalated when Parker grabbed a kitchen knife and stabbed Volkens multiple times.

Officers then responded to 3242 Lakeford Drive. Parker advised there was a verbal altercation between her and Volkens that morning in regard to marital issues. She told police he had thrown a Cîroc bottle at her, striking her arm, so she grabbed a kitchen knife and stabbed him when he lunged at her. Based on both stories and the nature of the assault, Parker was determined to be the primary aggressor.

Lakita Parker was arrested and charged with aggravated assault. She was released on a $15,000 bond.
