40-year-old Jennifer Lichty posted in the #HipHermitage Facebook group late Sunday evening looking for someone to go out and have dinner with. She says she ended up going to Cinco De Mayo alone, and police say they later found her afterward when she rammed a moving vehicle in her apartment complex and blew a 0.285 BAC, more than three times the legal limit. Lichty was already out on #PreTrialRelease after she was found passed out behind the wheel with a bottle of rum on January 26, when she blew a 0.263 BAC.
Metro Nashville Police responded to an accident in the parking lot of an apartment complex at 1401 Hermitage Park Drive at 11:50 p.m. Sunday, where both vehicles were damaged, and both drivers refused medical assistance. Witnesses say Jennifer Lichty, age 40, was driving through the parking lot when she impacted the front of a Nissan sedan driven by Da’Reake Busby, who was going the opposite direction. Once she hit his vehicle with her SUV, she continued to drive forward into the car and did not immediately stop.
Lichty told officers she did not remember what happened, however, they report she smelled of alcohol. She initially told police she had one margarita at 7 p.m., but then later admitted to drinking at a local Mexican Restaurant, Cinco De Mayo, just before driving. At 7:02 p.m. Sunday evening, Jennifer posted in the local ‘Hip Hermitage‘ Facebook group, asking where a good place to dine alone was, also hinting that she really didn’t want to dine alone. Around 8 p.m. she posted that she was headed out to eat. Monday evening, when asked how her night went, she stated no one ended up going, so she went by herself, and noted “sorry not much to tell” about the evening.
Police say she voluntarily completed field sobriety tests, showing multiple indicators of impairment. Upon taking the breathalyzer test, she blew a 0.285 BAC, more than 3.5x the legal limit in Tennessee. At this time of this incident, Jennifer Lichty was free on pre-trial release after a January 26th arrest where she was charged with another DUI after blowing a 0.263 BAC when police found her passed out behind the wheel of an SUV with the engine running, and a local Mapco. That night she was found with a half-empty bottle of spiced rum in the front seat.
For the current incident, Jennifer Lichty was booked into the Metro Nashville Jail, charged with DUI. She was freed on pre-trial release – for the 2nd time in 7 weeks. She has multiple upcoming court dates.
