36-year-old Michelle Folnsbee faces felony drug charges, even though she possessed no actual drugs. She was a passenger in a vehicle involved in a traffic stop when Goodlettsville PD located several ‘safes’ in her PUMA bag that contained bags of what appears to be crystal methamphetamine. When officers tested the drugs, nothing returned positive, and she admitted it was salt, stating she used it to “woo the men” who bought it. She is charged with felony possession of a counterfeit controlled substance, and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia. She is free on pre-trial release.

ARREST WARRANT / AFFIDAVIT:
On 11/29/21 I, Ofc Campbell, initiated a traffic stop at 252 Long Hollow Pike based on prior knowledge that the operator of the vehicle did not have a valid DL. Upon contact, the driver and passenger were positively identified. The driver was asked out of the vehicle to discuss the matter involving his driver’s license and he was informed that he would be issued a state citation for driver’s license required. Upon exiting the vehicle, the driver stated to Ofc Campbell that he had a needle in his front pocket. Based on the fact the driver had an extensive drug history, he was asked for consent to search the vehicle. The driver stated that he had no problem with a vehicle search.

The passenger(defendant) was asked out of the vehicle while the search was conducted. The defendant also stated that a Puma bag and a purse located in the backseat belonged to her. The defendant also gave permission to search her belongings located in the backseat. While conducting a search of the purse, (2) straws with a white powdery substance were located along with 1.85 grams of what looked to be crystal meth in a small black baggie.

While searching the Puma bag, 3 small safes that were accessible, contained an assortment of baggies and a digital scale with a white powdery residue. The baggie that was believed to be crystal meth was tested but yielded no results. Under Miranda, the defendant was asked what contraband would be found inside the black baggie that resembled crystal meth.

The defendant stated that the black baggie contained salt and that it was used to “woo” the men. Since the black baggie was a substance that represented a controlled substance and was similar in color, shape, size, and markings to a schedule II controlled substance, the defendant was charged with a class E felony Counterfeit controlled substance and paraphernalia.
