Inmate Michael Lee Adams, 28, was formally charged on Monday with receiving contraband into a penal institution, while in custody of the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office. We previously reported on the woman who smuggled the Suboxone in, Amy Lynn Cheeves, 35, who is also charged with a felony for smuggling the drugs into the facility.

Officers say Amy Cheeves, who had her children wither her at the visitation, smuggled 18 Suboxone strips with her into the facility during a Christmas day visitation with Michael Adams. After an investigation into the matter, investigators found a jail phone call between the two, where smuggling the Suboxone strips into the jail during their next visitation was discussed.
