48-year-old Barbara Montgomery is jailed on her 4th DUI charge, after MNPD found her passed out behind the wheel of her vehicle in a McDonald’s parking lot with her car in drive, and foot on the brake. She had taken Suboxone, Gabapentin, Adderall, and Lithium.

Police responded to a Nashville McDonald’s in the early hours of Thursday morning, for a report of a woman who appeared to be sleeping or unconscious behind the wheel of a running vehicle. Metro police arrived to find the 2011 Honda According running, but in a parking spot near the drive-thru. The woman in the driver’s seat, Barbara Montgomery, had her foot on the break, and the gear in ‘drive’. Once she was aware of her surroundings, they report she had a “low slurred raspy voice” and her body movements were “exaggerated and sluggish”. Several pill bottles were observed in the vehicle around her person, and she used the car as a brace as she ‘staggered’ out of the vehicle.

Montgomery told officers she had taken Suboxone and Gabapentin a few hours earlier, around 8 p.m., and she had also taken Adderall and Lithium. Officer report signs of impairment on every field sobriety tests, to include the HGN, VGN, walk and turn, one leg stand, finger to nose, lack of convergence, and the modified Romberg balance exam. Montgomery was booked in DUI 4th or more, and is jailed in lieu of a $5,000 bond.
