Shawn Browning wrecked his vehicle and called Jeremiah Harris to pick him up and get things out of the vehicle. Police arrived before they fled, and found both in possession of guns and drugs packaged for resale.

Goodlettsville Police were dispatched to the area of 386 Vietnam Veterans / I-65 North on October 15th at approximately 11:13 p.m., to a report of a crash of a single vehicle, driven by 18-year-old Shawn Nathaniel Browning. Also on the scene was 18-year-old Jeremiah Keon Harris, who arrived to assist with retrieving items from the wrecked vehicle, and giving Browning a ride away from the scene.

Due to the smell of marijuana coming from both the wrecked vehicle and the vehicle Harris arrived in, searched were conducted on both. On the wrecked vehicle belonging to Browning, officers found a red Michael Jordan fanny pack, containing:

  • 27 grams of marijuana, packaged in 9 clear baggies for resale
  • .380 Jimenez Arms, fully loaded, one in the chamber

Inside the vehicle, Harris drove to the scene, officers located:

  • STOLEN .380 Ruger LCP2, 2 bullets loaded
  • digital scales
  • 2 grams of marijuana in a plastic baggie

When questioned about the handguns in each vehicle, both defendants told officers they found the guns “in a park”. Harris added that he didn’t turn it in, because he “wanted to impress his friends”. Both claimed the marijuana was for personal use. Shawn Browning was charged with possession of a weapon during a felony, and possession with intent to distribute (marijuana). He is free on a $35,000 bond. Jeremiah Harris was charged with drug paraphernalia, simple possession, theft, and possession of a weapon during a felony. Harris is free on a $29,500 bond.
