40-year-old Jennifer Willis-Quailes was charged with unlawful possession, public intoxication, and resisting arrest after she was found “slumped over” at a Nashville airport gate and ignored officers trying to remove her from the facility.
On March 16th, officers were called to Gate C-21 at Nashville International Airport to assist with an unresponsive passenger. According to affidavits, Jennifer Willis-Quailes was difficult to rouse and struggled to answer questions. She admitted to officers she had ingested Xanax and didn’t have a prescription. Her impairment was witnessed by multiple people at the gate as well as Southwest Airlines employees. She had been booked on a flight the next business day and was asked to leave the airport. While being escorted from the airport, Jennifer was allotted time to use the restroom. After a more than justifiable amount of time in the bathroom, a female officer was sent in to check on her.
She was found on her cell phone with her mother and was again reminded she needed to leave the facility. After multiple attempts to procure Jennifer transportation, her persistence in ignoring authorities and refusal to voluntarily leave the airport officers informed her that she was in danger of arrest. She continued to disregard them and was subsequently placed under arrest while fully resisting. The detention took four officers, greatly trying to be gentle because Jennifer had informed them she was a stroke survivor. After her arrest, Jennifer’s carry on bag was searched and produced pills resolved to be 73 dextroamphetamine pills, 5 hydrocodone bitartrate pills and 2 oxycodone. Jennifer did not have a prescription for these medicines. She is a Licensed Practical Nurse.
Jennifer Willis-Quailes was arrested and charged with unlawful possession, public intoxication, and resisting arrest. She was freed on pre-trial release.
