Man gets upset about wine; bites and chokes girlfriend, says “I could kill ya’ll but…I love you”

38-year-old Peaque Andrews was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, aggravated assault by strangulation, and domestic assault when his girlfriend didn’t bring home wine and she says he strangled her, bit her, and then threatened her with a knife while telling her he loved her.

On April 21st, officers responded to 3181 Parthenon Avenue to a call about a person with a weapon. According to affidavits, Peaque Andrews told them when they arrived that his girlfriend Stacy Letterlough had called because of an argument. Ms. Letterlough’s version of the events was that Peaque had sent her to the store for “a drink” and when she came back without wine he became enraged and besieged her. She also told police that he had bitten her on her cheek and strangled her before she could escape to another room with her daughter.

Peaque kicked in the door and she fled to yet another room and when Peaque pursued her there with a kitchen knife. The report states Peaque Andrews told his victim “I could kill ya’ll, but I won’t because I love you.” Authorities observed injury and damage that corroborated Ms. Letterlough’s entire story. She refused assistance and to press charges but officers informed her that the situation constituted prosecution.

Peaque Andrews was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, aggravated assault by strangulation, and domestic assault. He is currently jailed in lieu of an $80,000 bond.
